Newcastle, Australia based Mim Jenkinson, the brains behind Mamamim.com, is a bit like superwoman, she's a mother of two young children, a professional writer, with experience in creative and business writing, she is incredibly busy. And, to add to the mix, a few months back she was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
Mamamim.com was a blog Mim started when she was on maternity leave, where it began life as a parenting and family life blog. Over time, things have changed, with posts about Family life, Pregnancy, Breast Cancer, Travel, Home and Beauty.
The change in direction, prompted Mim to think about the name of her blog, she wanted something that was a play on her profession, that captured what her blog was now about.
To change the name of the blog from Mamamim to Love from Mim. Create something that is suitable for both the website and social media. It should cover all the topics that the blog features.
The key to the rebrand was to think about the whole branding. It was important to think about what would happen if stationary was needed, so we had to consider print use, as well as digital uses. Covering this ensured that we didn't run into problems later on.
We had an in depth discussion about colour palettes, likes and dislikes and I went away to sketch out some ideas.
After some narrowing down and developments we reached the final design. A ocean filled love heart, typeset in Avant Garde, striking a neat balance of the things Mim loved, and retaining a part of her original identity. The font used, closely resembled the original typeface, but with a couple extra quirky character embellishments (see the 'R').
I engaged Martin to assist in the rebrand of my Lifestyle blog. Having made the decision to change the name of the blog, I wanted a logo that represented me and what the blog was about.
Martin took my brief of what I wanted the logo to represent and we discussed colours, design and images and what he came back with could not have been more perfect. Martin worked quickly in providing me with a variety of options that all matched my brief very well.
I'm so happy with the finished logo and completely recommend Martin's design services. He really listened to my brief, matched it perfectly and worked with professionalism throughout.
